In my opinion if you made two and layered them it would become an extremely rich cake, too much in my opinion. It would probably just about be thick enough to be cut in half as it is. If I did layer it I'd probably go chocolate all the way and use a chocolate ganache.Sylviehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14476338461415416067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-19099885591704871922009-07-21T01:33:09.876+01:002009-07-21T01:33:09.876+01:00This looks like a wonderful cake! If I doubled this recipe to make layers, what would you recommend as a frosting/filling? Or is the single-recipe cake large enough to be sliced in half?Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14297761834043635309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-32523571107160679992008-11-05T17:50:00.000+00:002008-11-05T17:50:00.000+00:00mmmmh! that looks exactly like my kind of cake! lo...mmmmh! that looks exactly like my kind of cake! love the thought of it and wish i could have a slice of it RIGHT NOW¬!thepassionatecookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10617713421812264990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-9116395468128381362008-11-01T14:37:00.000+00:002008-11-01T14:37:00.000+00:00Lovely cake - I'm with you by using Green and Blac...Lovely cake - I'm with you by using Green and Black's chocolate.
I think I'll take my slice of cake with some creme fraiche please Sylvie!Maggiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01507779981002229597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-87167755720839805512008-10-29T11:01:00.000+00:002008-10-29T11:01:00.000+00:00Oooooh Sylvie this is a cake I would adore, my mou...Oooooh Sylvie this is a cake I would adore, my mouth is watering just viewing all that chocolate heaven on a plate!!

Rosie xRosiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03861602553420699670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-21634265255346158512008-10-28T21:15:00.000+00:002008-10-28T21:15:00.000+00:00this looks dangerously delicious :-)this looks dangerously delicious :-)Snooky doodlehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00310434713490902199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123354642759073561.post-57373895839701098532008-10-27T20:53:00.000+00:002008-10-27T20:53:00.000+00:00Val, you're exactly right.Jan, I was thinking that...Val, you're exactly right.

Jan, I was thinking that I might experiment with adding some orange zest as the flavour of the juice doesn't really come through at all.

Katerina, I'm sorry.
